STA Travel Migrates Global Travel Wholesaling Business Onto Dolphin Technology Solution

Global leader in specialist student and young persons travel, STA Travel (STAY WYSE Member), has completed a major overhaul of technology within its STAy wholesale business by deploying a tour operating solution supplied by Dolphin Dynamics.

This major software implementation project, involving over 1,500 days of product enhancement and customisation services, enables STA Travel retail shops worldwide to search and book both STAy’s 3,000+ directly contracted travel products – along with a comprehensive range of XML connected, third-party suppliers.

As a central part of the project, STA Travel has deployed Dolphin’s new web publishing solution to launch a completely re-engineered STAy website. With a host of new features including fully-integrated content management support, map-based product search and full booking capabilities.

Several new third-party s upplier links have been introduced, which combined with STA Travel’s own offering provide access to 125,000 properties worldwide, transfer services and sector specific ground products including rail passes, language schools and much more.

The Dolphin platform allows the retail consultant to be totally self sufficient by enabling booking retrieval, validation and cancellation support, along with property de-duping and content caching services to improve performance and control over published content. Whilst integration with STA Travel’s retail network means local offices’ back-office systems are automatically updated for ongoing booking management.
