Job title
: Area Manager Australia
Organisation: Booking.com

WYSTC: How long have you been working at Booking.com for?
AV: 5 years

WYSTC: What is your professional background?
AV: I am Area Manager, Australia for Booking.com and am responsible for the leadership and management of around 40 account managers and operations professionals in our Sydney office who work in partnership with around 6,000 Australian hotels and other accommodations marketed globally on www.booking.com.

I joined Booking.com as an Account Manager when our operation started in Australia in 2008 and was promoted to Senior Account Manager in 2010. Prior to Booking.com I worked with Rendezvous Hotels & Resorts as Group Sales Manager.

I am looking forward to meeting with all hostels, backpackers and other accommodations at WYSTC

WYSTC: What type of organisations are you looking to meet at WYSTC?
AV: Booking.com is the world’s number one website for booking hotels and other accommodations, and our mission is to help travelers of all backgrounds and budgets, both on leisure and business, easily discover, book and enjoy the best places to stay in the world.

I am looking forward to meeting with all hostels, backpackers and other accommodations at WYSTC that currently work with Booking.com or are looking to join our platform of over 335,000 accommodations. I will be pleased to meet and discuss with WYSTC attendees the mutual benefits of a partnership with Booking.com.

WYSTC: Which of your products are you most excited about and why?
AV: Booking.com has a suite of easy-to-use products and functionality that connects accommodations to booking customers from all over the world including a market leading website and a suite of mobile and tablet applications that support both 365 day room availability and last-minute bookings.

WYSTC: What do you consider to be the most interesting trends in the market?
AV: There are many interesting trends in the online accommodation market. I would highlight the increasing use of mobile devices, the growing mix of visitors from China and the demand arising from low cost airlines as three interesting trends in Asia-Pacific at the moment.

WYSTC: Which educational sessions are you most looking forward to attending?
AV: The value of the youth travel accommodation industry.

WYSTC: How did you hear about WYSTC?
AV: We were approached by WYSTC directly to participate in the event and we saw this as a great venue to connect with our existing accommodation partners as well as to be provided with the opportunity to meet potential new partners.
