National Express and YHA form partnership

MKCoach1101-300x203National Express and YHA (England and Wales) have formed a partnership to sell coach tickets in Youth Hostels throughout England and Wales.

National Express and Eurolines coach tickets can now be bought at Youth Hostels located in some of the most famous tourist destinations in the country.

The joint venture will, for the first time, let visitors book onward coach travel to other Youth Hostels during a stay at YHA accommodation.

They can also book Eurolines services opening up the possibility of travelling to 500 destinations across Europe and Ireland.

Coach tickets are now on sale in 27 YHA Youth Hostels including Ambleside, Bath, Canterbury, Grasmere, Keswick, London, Windermere and York.

National Express UK Coach managing director Tom Stables said: “The UK has so many wonderful places to visit and this exciting partnership will make it that much easier for young people to travel and stay around the UK without breaking the bank.”

Caroline White, chief executive of YHA (England and Wales), said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for young people to discover more of the incredible locations we have in England and Wales and we’re able to do that through our partnership with National Express.”

The news comes as the number of young people travelling with National Express this month soared.

Young people have made five times as many passenger journeys in February using a National Express Young Person’s Coachcard compared to the same period in 2013 – a year-on-year increase of more than thirty thousand journeys.
